As a single woman, I adopted a girl from China in 1999. She is now 10 and doing well. I write about my expriences no matter what it is, because I love to write. I would love to share my expreinces, both good and difficult, with others. It is by far the most challenging, life-changing event of my life. I am anxious to hear from others, too. A web sight is soon to follow.

Glad to hear that your daughter is doing well. Most adoptive parents I run into adopted only a couple of years ago, so it is great to hear from somebody with more years under their belt as an adoptive parent. Good luck with your books! I am happy to give you feedback on your manuscripts if you are interested (I know that was helpful for me with my book).

I'll be happy to review your book(s) for you when you're ready.

It's nice to have you here at Adoption Writers. We travelled to Vietnam in 2000 to adopt our 2nd daughter. I went back again last year to bring our son home! Adoption is such a wonderful experience.
I'll be anxious to hear more about your books.
Good luck,
Heidi
Hi Laura! Your website is such a great idea! When I adopted my daughter from China, she was 20 months old. I searched for children's books to read to her but I couldn't find anything appropriate. Thus, I began writing my own. I am shortly going to be self-publishing them, but it all takes time!
Thank you for doing this and for giving us this opportunity to express ourselves and to share our writings!

Welcome to Adoption Writers! Would love to hear more about your book -- is it about your experience of adopting your daughter?
I have an 11-year-old. Isn't it a great age?
