When my husband and I started the process of adopting a child, we were clueless about how much our lives would be forever changedI
I did not know how this adoption adventure would expand my relationships and my world, how it would change the shape of my heart through vulnerability and difficulty and joy. Adoption has made me uncomfortable. It has made me anxious and sad. It has also made me overflow with gratitude and love. And it has brought me nearer to God, who stands there in the midst of all the ups ands downs of adoption.
After returning from Vietnam, twice, with our two sons, all I had experienced and learned about the spiritual riches of adoption had to spill out on paper. So I wrote, and my book "Carried Safely Home" came out in 2005.
Our adventure continues...Phil has left his corporate engineering job in order to do consulting and have more flexibility to publish his children's book, "The Little Girl," about an abandoned baby girl in China. We also are devoting as much time as we can to our website, seeking to give spiritual encouragement to families considering adoption. Check it out and say hi!
I just visited the Adoption by Grace web site and didn't realize this was your site until I sent you an e-mail. Then it dawned on me you were part of Adoption Writers. In my e-mail to you I asked if I could send you a review copy of my book, Masterpiece of Joy. I would love to have you read it and review it on your site. I look forward to hearing from you.
I just wanted to let you know that I did receive your book Carried Safely Home, and have just been so busy that I haven't read it yet. I will start it today and then will review on my website!
I really appreciate you and Phil reviewing my book Welcome Home, Forever Child, on your site.
