- I am a retired elementary teacher who now has the time to write. I recently published a book titled "The Journey to Mei." This book was inspired by a friend who adopted from China eleven years ago and felt there was not much children's literature for the older child. Most of the books for kids on this subject are picture books for the younger crowd. I spent 18 months researching and writing. Part of my research included a month's stay in China. "The Journey to Mei" is a chapter book that takes the reader through the adoption process as it would naturally unfold in everyday life activities. There is much information on China's traditions, culture and history. The book is fast moving, humorous at times, and informative.

Thanks for your message. I welcome anyone to read the story and tell me what they think. I have received such favorable comments especially from the Families of Chinese Children community asking me to write a sequel. And so, I am attempting to do that now. The past several months I have been so tied up with the business end of this book that I've missed writing. It feels good to be creating again.
