Katia’s Home To the editor: Thank you for another great expose in the form of “Saving Katia” (July 2, 2008). I’m a birth mom, so the story was especially sad to read, but also eye-opening. Luckily, I placed my daughter in a semi-open adoption and get to see her on a pretty regular basis. She knows I’m her birth mom and has no emotional or mental problems. Giving Back

As 2007 turned to 2008 my girls and I were turning over ideas about ways we could help other orphans. After searching the internet and speaking with other adoptive parents we finally decided to adopt the Shoes For Souls project led by Buckner International Adoptions in Texas. Their Website explained the process clearly and with open hearts we agreed to make that our project this year. McCain opposes gays’ right to adopt
